Another custom T-shirt---- with a 'political' statement!!!

This is about as 'political' as the 'ol Loydster gets, folks!!! Much like in the case of my previous 'custom job', that featured Sonny James, I simply could NOT find a 'T' that featured this particular favorite comic-actor of mine, with THIS particular 'message'!!!---

                                    Like I was saying, about as 'political' as I care to get!!!

Imagine---- if ALL the great comics and comic actors of the past, really WERE running things here in the good 'ol U.S. of A.!!! We would all not ONLY be laughing all the time, BUT--- there would be NO such thing as long-winded, ego-maniac,show-boat politicians in Washington anymore!! All of the comics would poke fun and RAZZ them so much, they would scramble out of the capitol all at once!!!

Loyd's BONUS AUDIO goodies!!!---- # 2!!-- 'caped crusaders' on record!!

Just this past weekend, my daughter surprised me with THIS little item!!! She found it in a thrift store, for--- believe it or not--- 99 cents!!! Now, it was NOT in 'mint' or 'collectible' condition!! But, STILL--- it's both something I didn't know even existed, AND -- it features those heroes from my childhood!!!---

AND--- here's my absolute FAVORITE track on this album!!! (featuring a NIFTY little 'slide-show', put together by the 'just-as-GEEKY-as-I-am' individual who first shared this on youtube!!!)----

Ah, the childhood memories just come FLOODING back!!! I was 9 years old all over again!!! Laying on the living room floor eating cheese puffs and watching TV--- the second those familiar sounds started on this album!!! FUN stuff indeed!!!

Loyd's BONUS video-clip--- # 14!!! Groucho doing what he did BEST!!!

Running a VERY close second behind my ALL-TIME favorite comedy team, the 3 Stooges-- are the absolute MASTERS of not ONLY slapstick, but RAZOR-sharp word-play!! The Marx brothers, of course!! Nobody could out-insult, out-wit, OR out-JOKE / Zinger / one-liner my FAVORITE of the group, Groucho!!

Here he is,doing what he was the VERY BEST at!! If you don't laugh or at least giggle at SOME of this stuff..... congratulations--- your'e DEAD!!---

Later in his career, (in the 1950s) Groucho of course hosted the game show, 'You bet your life'. That is actually one of the few reruns of old game shows I would bother watching--- when they were being shown on late night TV in my teen years. It was Groucho, after all!!! Even if he was just talking with / poking fun at the contestants, it was STILL pretty funny stuff!!

But--- I'll ALWAYS prefer Groucho in the earlier films with his brothers Chico and Harpo. Those classic flicks (especially the first 7 or 8!!), in my mind anyway--- are PRIME Marx brothers.... PRIME Groucho!!!

Making a 'one of a kind' T-shirt, featuring the 'Southern Gentleman' himself!!!

Those of you who have been taking this trip along with me here in 'blog-a-wog-wig-waggy-land', will know that one of my ALL-TIME favorite 'smooth country crooners',is the 'Southern Gentleman' himself, the one and only Sonny James!!

One of the kind of sad things I've discovered about this truly unique and talented artist, is that pretty much NO merchandise EXISTS, featuring him!!! Oh, you can find hundreds (maybe thousands???) of his albums on E-bay!! But--- just try searching (like 'ol Loydster did!!) for... oh, I don't know.... maybe a T-shirt with him on it!! Again, I came up with ZIP in that department!!


BUT---- this is JUST the type of situation where the 'mad scientist' in me takes over!!! The wheels, gears and mental teeter-totters started turning in the 'ol noggin!!! The next thing I know, I'm snagging iron-on transfer-paper at the local 'Wally-world', along with a 'blank' / plain T-shirt---- and putting together a design for a transfer!! I think what I came up with turned out fairly NIFTY!!!----

Nothing TOO fancy-shmancy here!!! A simple black,white and gray design---  using fonts from the Microsoft Word program on my lap-top!! AND--- the SAME portrait of Sonny from his 'Best of...' album!!!

Next, my daughter's scanner / copier was drafted into service--- for the actual printing of the design onto the transfer paper (thanks a LOT, Shelb!! You are INDEED  a sweetie for helping dear 'ol dad out in this little venture!!!). THEN---- finally, after CAREFULLY following the instructions (AND managing NOT to goof-up either transfer OR T-shirt!!!), 'WHAM'!!!-----

One HAPPY  Sonny James fan!! Pretty CLASSY, don't you think??? ( I mean the shirt, OF COURSE!!)

And there you have it!! Now, I have something I can wear LOUD & PROUD to show off my affection for the 'Southern Gentleman', AND--- it's truly ONE of a kind too!!! Not too shabby, if I say so my own little 'ol Loydster-self!!!!

Loyd's BONUS video-clip, # 13!!!--- A classic ad for a classic car!!

 Being that I'm a MAJOR classic Mustang  freak, coming across this vintage 1968 commercial was like I'd found a long-lost hidden treasure!! The father of the Shelby Mustang himself, Carroll Shelby--- talking about (and driving!!) my favorite pony-car!! The '67-'68 models have ALWAYS been my personal favorites,by the way!! More on that  below!! Now, let's check out this CLASSIC ad---

Now, being that  I've NEVER been wealthy in any kind of way, and certainly not a millionaire--- I've NEVER came even CLOSE to owning a Shelby Mustang!! Just a 'dream car', as far as I'm concerned!!  

Heck, I've only owned one 'classic'-model 'Stang--- a VERY raggedy, rusted-out '67!! That was when I was a mere 19 year-old!!! TOO young, and too nearly-broke to fix it up like it needed to be!! 

I was as proud as I could be of it though!! This was despite seeing the road pass underneath me, while driving---through a nearly 3-inch hole in the floorboard!! It was a CLASSIC 'Stang, and it was mine though!!! Rusted-through spots and all!!! 

I guess owning that ol 'Stang, along with the couple that my dad owned over the years before that, is what's been at the core of my life-long love of the classic Ford-four-seater!! Numerous models,toys and replicas of various Mustangs, not to mention HUNDREDS of magazines and books, in the 'Loydster collection',all testify to it being MORE than just a passing interest, that's for SURE!!

Additions to the 'hide-out' / 'crime-fighting headquarters'!!!

This here blog-thang-a-wing-dang-doodle being about 'Loyd AND his stuff'' (hey, it's in the TITLE, after all, right???)---- I figured an occasional update on the doo-dads and gee-gaws in the 'Loydster man-cave / rumpus-room' wouldn't be too out of place!!

Here we have some items I've slapped up on what little wall space / empty spots I could find around the place, since initially setting the room back up, last summer.----

JUST in case anyone entering, is kinda wondering just WHO this hide-out belongs to!!!

Next, some framed items that were actually dug out of some old photo albums I browsed through recently!! this stuff is just TOO COOL to leave  moldering away in one of those!!----

The official John Wayne postage stamp, from 2004!! This is DEFINATELY worthy of putting on PROUD display!!

Pic of Debbie, the kiddos, and me---- at GRACELAND,plus the admission ticket!!! This stop,during our 1999 vacation trip,was a life-long dream come true for a shameless  'Elvis JUNKY' like me!!! I WILL return for another tour through there, someday!! 

 AND--- What would a room nick-named a 'cave' be, without at LEAST one poster of one of my favorite 'Bat-rides' of all time!!!---

The movie came out on my BIRTHDAY,in 1989, by the way!!! How NIFTY-NEAT-O-COOL is THAT!!???

Last, but certainly not least, we have a couple of additional posters hung up in the stairwell,going up to the room. BOTH are exactly right,considering how MUCH a certain 'caped crusader' is featured throughout my little 'hide-out'!!!---

This is a 'mini-poster' (8x17) version of the one I always wanted to snag,but wasn't able to, back in '89!!

Just another thing that HAD to be put up!!! If nothing else, just to provide positive PROOF--that I'm a HOPELESS GEEK-A-ZOID!!

One very last pair, also in a little notch next to the stairwell!!! Further proof of my utter and complete GOOFY-GEEKY-NESS!!!---

An exceptionally COOL piece of art, by my good buddy, Jeff Arnold--features Commissioner Gordon, on the hot-line to Batman!! OR-- maybe he's just checking out Moe and Larry doing dental-work on Curly!!!

There you have it!! The most recent additions to the goodies,brick-a-brats, and what-nots in and around the 'Loydster-Lair' / 'Secret-Sanctum'!!! The room that's become pretty much a hobby itself!!!!
