Loyd's BONUS AUDIO goodies!!!--- # 5-- 6 faves from Robert Cray!

Yet ANOTHER time it's been SO tough to 'pick-and-choose' favorites!!! This guitar-slinger, one of the 'masters of the Fender Stratocaster'--- has been one of my all-time FAVORITE music-makers....for OVER 30 years!!

I discovered Robert Cray, back during my time serving Uncle Sam in the Air Force. In fact, it was during that SAME time-period-- that I was also turned-on to Stevie Ray Vaughan! Like Stevie ALWAYS was, Robert's one of THOSE musicians!! You know the kind---the ones that, you just run out and snag their latest album, WITHOUT hearing a note from it! You just KNOW that whatever they record, it's going to be THAT good!

Since choosing my favorites is SO tough, with somebody that I've been enjoying listening to for THIS long--- (SO MANY great songs / albums!) I used the same criteria that I've done here in the past: 'If my digital devices were STUCK in a repeat mode for a half-dozen songs, which ones would I NOT mind hearing--OVER and OVER? These six IMMEDIATELY came to the top of my pointy little brain!!!--- I also tried to pick tunes from throughout his long career! (What I usually do here!)

There's a couple of remakes / covers of old classics in the mix here. Otis Redding's 'Trick or Treat', and the old 5 Royales chesnut, 'I'm with you' (from his latest album--released in 2017, in fact!) . Robert not only does BOTH old tunes justice, he actually IMPROVES on the originals! In fact, I just refer to them as 'Robert Cray tunes' now!! Yep, he REALLY is THAT good!---

Any time I'm feeling like just another TIRED 'ol middle-aged guy, my memory takes me back to THIS! One of my FAVORITE opening scenes, from my FAVORITE childhood show! I gotta admit, EVERY time I see it, I feel like the 9-year-old Loydster again, in front of the TV every weekday afternoon! After ALL these years, it's STILL just so VERY COOL!-----
